About me
My name is Jessica Domeier. I grew up in a small honky tonk town in Nebraska named Burwell, where the main attractions are the Calamus Lake and Nebraska’s Big Rodeo. I loved being able to grow up in a tight knit community where everyone is looking out for each other. I attended college at University of Nebraska Kearney, and graduated in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in health sciences. I really like how Kearney is a happy medium of city/small town living. I have lived in Kearney for the past 8 years and continue to enjoy watching the ways that it has evolved into a bustling economy. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, grabbing an iced coffee at a quaint coffee shop, and challenging my creative side by DIY-ing home decor and furniture.
Why I became a Realtor
As you are probably wondering, how did I end up with a career in real estate when I have a degree for health sciences? Well, everything changed for me when the pandemic hit in 2020. During the pandemic I was a first year nursing student and pregnant with my first child. The whole world shut down and suddenly we were all taking our courses online from home. I had my baby in April and found myself making it work as a stay at home mom, as daycares were shut down. That summer break of the pandemic, for the first time in my life, I had a lot of free time on my hands now that my fast paced life wasn’t revolving around a constant class and work schedule. I took that free time and started teaching myself about investing, real estate, and business. Having a small baby to take care of now, I instantly knew I needed to shift life paths. Not for myself, but for my children. Being from a lower middle class background, I was never taught the importance investing financially for the future and the perks of having your own business. Based off of my own research, I knew that investing in real estate is where I want to start, and if I want to invest in it why not help others to do the same? By becoming a realtor, it is a mission of mine to fill in that education gap and teach my clients the importance of buying a home and how to maximize their investment. Because of this, I love working with first time home buyers and those who are looking to use real estate as investment. I truly believe that we need to help build a real estate market for the future and nurture a world that the younger generations can be successful in.
